Andrea Rovazzi – From spouse to caregiver. The complexity of finding a ‘new normal’.
Andrea Rovazzi had been a full-time worker, mother, and spouse. She never expected she would simply take from the role of a caregiver therefore at the beginning of her life – let alone at all. Her life changed extremely abruptly on December 21 st , 2015 whenever her spouse had been hurt at the office after suffering a coronary attack and starting cardiac arrest. Her spouse had been later clinically determined to have post-concussion problem.
Much like a great many other caregivers that are place in the exact same situation, Andrea didn’t first recognize she had been a caregiver:
“I became simply doing the things I had to do – he is my hubby. I did son’t understand I became doing such a thing out associated with the ordinary… I did son’t recognize I would personally qualify as being a caregiver. The truth ended up being that his care and health had been at the top of my brain twenty four hours a day…Every waking minute we had been researching, reading articles, scheduling and going to appointments. It’s awful to look at somebody you adore suffer, it my mission to try and find what would end my husband’s suffering so I made. That was included with its downsides because we wasn’t staying in the minute. We wasn’t knowing everything we had because I happened to be therefore concerned of just what we didn’t have… Once I acknowledged that I became a caregiver I happened to be in a position to better accept all of that went directly into being one.”
